A Hug

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

                        Matthew 11: 28-30

Why SOS?

Consider the following statistics from the

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

70% of students experience "overwhelming anxiety"

37% were saddled with persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness

15% had a major depressive episode

             19% seriously considered attempting suicide

3,703 students in grades 9-12 attempt suicide each day

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for children ages 10-14

All the above suicide statistics on average have increased from the

years 2000-2021 by 36% over that time period!

With America being a nation in distress, it's children are a casualty of it.  By their actions, student's are signaling their S.O.S. SOS! For The Students' purpose is to help each individual child to better cope with life's stresses from "overwhelming anxiety" to attempted suicide through teachings of character, hope, and love found in the Bible. If we help one child, we are successful.

A parent may say or think that their child does not have problems as bad as the ones listed above, so they do not need to be a part of the program. That is not true. They would be an major asset to the program. Their child will be an example that good character works and they can support those students who are in distress. A struggling classmate can better relate to and be helped by another fellow student rather than an adult. All children become better students and persons the more they study the character teachings found in the Bible.

The second half of our name, For The Students, is the call for people to stand up and answer the distress call of students. SOS! For The Students answers the call by showing students how to handle life’s stresses and have a better life

through teachings found in the Bible.

The local school has traditionally provided the core courses, athletics, music, art, and social groups to teach students knowledge and character. With the breakdown of the American family, the education system of today is charged to not only educate our students but also to feed them, and take care of their physical, mental, and emotional needs. With public schools’ limited resources and a stretched-thin staff, it is very difficult for a school to meet today’s student’s needs.

SOS! For The Students exists to positively impact students, schools and communities through Bible-based character education during school hours. We believe that public educators are heroes. And now, more than ever, schools must address character and mental health on top of providing academic instruction. SOS! For The Students works alongside administrators and teachers as a supportive ally in the fight for better character development, mental health, and academic achievement.

SOS! For The Students provides a practical way

to make an impact on our children.
